We’re two toy poodles living our best lives, one muddy walk and wild camp at a time. Dad carries all the heavy stuff, lets us sniff everything, and always makes sure there’s a treat waiting at the tent.
We thought it was about time we had a say on this blog. After all, we’re the ones doing all the important jobs out there; like squirrel spotting, napping in scenic places, and guarding the kettle while it boils.
I’m the black one. Quiet, loyal, observant. I take my role very seriously trail scout, tent guardian, and general keeper-of-calm. I like to walk just behind or beside my dad, checking everything’s in order. If something rustles in the bushes, don’t worry! I’ve already clocked it!
I love the quiet moments: sitting outside the tent, nose to the wind, watching the hills breathe. I don’t need much, just a warm spot and the security of knowing everyone’s safe. I let Buddy do the bouncing around. I’m here to keep the peace.
I’m the apricot one, and I’m always ready. Did someone say walk? Camp? Snack? Stick?! I love it all. I’m the first out of the van, the first to the summit, and the first to dive straight into the sleeping bag when the sun goes down.
I love new places; new smells, new trails, new sheep to stare at from a distance. My job is simple: bring the energy, boost morale, and make everyone smile. I also handle snack patrol. You drop it, it’s mine.
At camp, Teddy watches the sunset like a philosopher, and I chase bits of grass. Our human sets up everything while we supervise. When the stars come out, we curl up inside the tent; warm, safe, and usually right on top of dad's sleeping bag (because that’s the warmest bit).
Sure, the ground can be a bit lumpy. Sure, it gets cold. But honestly? We wouldn’t trade it for anything.
We’re outside, together. Just us, the hills, and the sound of the wind. No traffic, no rushing, no walls. It’s simple. It’s peaceful. It smells amazing.
We don’t know where we’re going next, but as long as we’re with dad, we’re ready.
Now if you’ll excuse us, someone just zipped the rucksack. That can only mean one thing…

Hello again from the trail! Ted here, with Buddy close by (he’s snoring but insists he’s “supervising”). We’ve just completed our most epic wild camping mission so far, 18 miles, 1600 metres of climbing, two very fluffy explorers, and one brave human dragging himself through the bog behind us.
