PUPDATE- Our First Wild Camp  Through the Eyes of Teddy & Buddy

“We walked. We sniffed. We conquered.”

🐾 Teddy: The Planner

When our dad started packing the big rucksack, I knew something was happening. Not just a walk. Not just a day trip. This was serious.

I watched carefully. Sleeping bag? Check. Stove? Check. Treats? Very important check. Buddy ran in circles, of course. He thought we were leaving every five minutes. Typical.

We set off with the sun on our backs and paws on the path. It was a long walk, ten miles, dad said. I didn’t count. I just know it felt good to move. Buddy chased shadows. I monitored sheep from a safe distance.

🐾 Buddy: The Enthusiast

Oh wow. SO MANY smells. Hills! Sheep! Mud! I led the way most of the time (except when I got distracted and forgot where we were going). Teddy stayed calm and sensible as usual. He’s very wise. I’m very fast.

I don’t know where we were heading, but it was amazing. High up. Windy. Big views. I did zoomies near the tent while Teddy judged me.

When the tent went up, I supervised from inside (claiming my spot early is key). Teddy sat outside like a statue, watching the sky change colours. He gets all poetic when the sun sets.

🐾 Teddy: Night Watch

Dinner was excellent. We both got a share. I did my usual bedtime security check, listen, sniff, settle. The stars came out, and the wind whispered through the grass.

But let me tell you, it was cold. I tucked in close. Buddy burrowed down like a little mole. We were warm eventually, but I made a note: next time, tell dad to pack an extra fleece for us.

🐾 Buddy: Morning Zooms

We woke up to birds and sky and that morning light that makes everything feel brand new. Dad boiled coffee. I sniffed the stove. Teddy watched the valley like he was the king of the mountain.

It was perfect. Just us, the tent, the view, and a whole world below our paws.

🐾 Final Thoughts from Both of Us:

We didn’t know what wild camping was before, but now? We get it. No fences. No rush. Just us and dad and the wind and the walk.

Would we do it again?
Yes. But with more snacks.
