Cat Bells Conquered – A Poodle Perspective
by Buddy and [your other poodle's name]
Today was a big one. We climbed a mountain. A real one. And not just any mountain – Cat Bells, one of the Lake District's finest.
It started easy enough. A lovely walk along the shores of Derwent Water with plenty of smells, sticks and ducks to keep us busy. We thought this was going to be another one of those “leisurely lake loops.” Oh no. Suddenly the path got steeper… and steeper… and then came the scrambling.
Now, we’re not saying we’re experts, but let’s just say we handled it better than Dad. He was full-on hands and knees in places, making some very dramatic noises. We offered moral support by skipping ahead like a couple of mountain goats. Poodle power, obviously.
Halfway up, we had a little break and guess what appeared… the medium sized rucksack. Yes, the one that carries all the good stuff: water bowls, snacks, and jackets. This isn't going to be a BIG adventure
At the summit, the clouds were thick but we didn’t mind. The breeze was cool and the rock was perfect for perching. After a while, the clouds lifted and wow – views for days. Even we stopped to take it all in (before returning to sniff-based exploration).
Seven miles round trip. Not bad for a couple of curly-haired adventurers and one brave hooman.
Tomorrow we’re taking a well-earned break. The plan? Hopping on the lake ferry to Keswick. That’s more our style, riding in style, ears in the wind, paws up.
Until next time,
